U.S. Bellows custom designed two of these rectangular expansion joints for an air fan ducting application at a chemical facility in Texas. They are 37 3/8″ wide, 65″ long, and 16″ face-to-face. The bellows and liner were fabricated from 304 stainless steel, with the rest of the components from carbon steel. The units are designed for an operating temperature of 250°F at 5 psig. The expansion joints were 100% dye-penetrant tested prior to shipment.

The units were completely fabricated from 304 stainless steel and measure 68″ x 36″ x 51 1/2″. They are designed for an operating temperature of 68°F at +/-2″ water column and 1 1/2″ of movement in all directions. All units were 100% dye penetrant and air jet leak tested prior to shipment.

U.S. Bellows designed and fabricated a rectangular metallic expansion joint with mitered corners for a gas turbine in New York. This unit’s dimensions are 37″ in width by 102″ in length by 16″ face-to-face. The bellows, frame ends and internal liner are fabricated from 300 series stainless steel. The expansion joint is designed for +/- 100″ water column and for a temperature range of -20°F to 800°F. It is designed for an axial movement of 1/2″ with a lateral offset of 1/2″. A dye penetrant examination and air and soap leak test was performed prior to shipment.

48 Multi-Layer High Temperature Rectangular Fabric Expansion Joints for a Gas Plant in Baytown, Texas
The rectangular fabric expansion joints consisted of two carbon and stainless steel frames separated by a high-temperature Silica fabric. The frames measured 13” × 37” × 6”, 14½” × 20½” × 6” and 17¼” × 17¼” × 4” and weighed 90, 115, and 170 lb. Each expansion joint was designed for a 15” Water Column (W.C.) with a temperature of 750°F and allowed for movement ranging from ±½” to ±1” in both the axial and lateral directions.
